Truck Races

DSC00944

We took Adam to the truck races at Bristol a week ago Wednesday.  It poured in the early afternoon and we thought if this keeps up there will be no races.  It stopped about 3:30 and we rushed over figuring we could at least give him the experience of looking around at the free stuff, the vendors and checking out the track.  Bristol Motor Speedway holds 160,000 people and it is quite impressive.   The rain held off all evening so we got to see an open wheel race and then the trucks.  There were enough wrecks to make it truly satisfying and after riding the shuttle to our truck parked over in a field, we got home about midnight.

I Am So Angry

One of my favorite people has been diagnosed with cancer recurrence. It just pisses me off so much. I heard about it yesterday morning and by late afternoon I was so angry I was talking back to the phone after putting people on hold and mumbling ominously about the output of the fax machine. I do not want her to suffer anymore!

Summer Boy

DSC00890

Our grandson Adam came to visit us this summer.  He is eight years old and his Mom told us she was going to have to put him in day care until school started up this fall.  My husband and I both had this funny idea at practically the same time.  Since we were visiting in Vermont and he lives in Vermont, why not just take him home with us when we go.  It would save his Mom a ton of money – and what working single Mom doesn’t need to do that – and it would keep him out of  “baby school”.  So that’s what we did.  I have not had a extra minute since he came and it’s only now that he has left that I have time to write about it.
